Snooker Table Rate Per Hour: How to Price Your Tables in India

How to set the right snooker and pool table rate per hour in India — covering costs, peak vs off-peak, per-frame options, and a simple pricing formula.

“What should I charge per hour?” is one of the most common questions club owners ask — and getting it wrong in either direction costs you. Price too high and tables sit empty; too low and you work hard for thin margins. Here’s a simple way to set your snooker/pool table rate.

Start with your cost per table-hour

Add up your monthly fixed costs — rent, electricity, staff, maintenance, software — and divide by the realistic number of table-hours you sell in a month. That’s your break-even cost per table-hour. Your price has to clear it comfortably across the whole month, knowing some hours will be empty.

Quick example: ₹90,000/month costs ÷ ~1,500 sellable table-hours ≈ ₹60/table-hour break-even. Your price needs to sit well above that.

Look at local demand and competition

Check what nearby clubs charge — but don’t just copy them. A cleaner, better-run club with a good canteen can charge a premium. Typical Indian club rates range widely by city and area, so anchor to your costs and location, not a national “average.”

Use peak vs off-peak pricing

You don’t need one flat rate. Charge more in peak evening/weekend hours when demand is high, and run a cheaper happy hour in dead afternoons to fill tables that would otherwise earn nothing. Good software applies these automatically. (Happy-hour setup guide.)

Consider per-frame for snooker

For serious snooker, a per-frame price can earn more than a low hourly rate on long frames — and players like knowing the cost upfront. You can run frame billing on snooker tables and per-minute on pool. (How frame billing works.)

A simple pricing formula

  1. Find your break-even cost per table-hour.
  2. Set your standard evening rate at roughly 2–3× break-even (adjust for your area).
  3. Add a peak premium for weekend nights.
  4. Add a happy-hour discount (20–30%) for slow afternoons.
  5. Review monthly against your reports — and adjust.

Make it effortless

Juggling peak, off-peak and per-frame rates by hand is error-prone. CueBill lets you set per-table rates, scheduled happy-hour pricing and frame billing once — then bills every session correctly and shows you which rates actually make money.
